Brief explanation: “The characteristics that made the Discobolus statue by Myron famous are easily intuited by looking at its very particular harmonic composition: facing the statue, it is possible (mentally) to trace an arc that passes directly from the hand holding the disc to the bent foot. In addition to this, a second serpentine line can be traced, originating from the head and then crossing the body until it reaches the other foot resting on the ground.

In Myron’s Discobolus, the depiction of movement is another aspect that has contributed to making this statue exceptional: this is highlighted in the detail of the outstretched arm with the disc, ready to rotate to launch the disc and unleash all the accumulated force. The preparatory movement for discus throw seems to make the athlete lose balance, but that’s not the case.

The protagonist manages to stay on his feet thanks to the force of the other movement generated by his own position, which fixes him to the ground and allows him to remain stable.

The Discobolus statue by Myron constitutes a fundamental turning point for Greek statuary: the two movements mentioned earlier should not be understood as opposing forces; on the contrary, the final balance of the athlete is given by a sum of forces, which, when united, result in the stability of the protagonist.”

It is precisely on this last image that I based the construction of the logo, imagining its components as the individual forces that make up the company and its final balance.
